Célzás, találat! akarsz új promo képeket? Fenn vannak a wrongon( be tudsz oda menni) vagy elküldhetem mailben, sinen nem törném magam, mindenki szarna rá úgyis.

Dave Gahan's sands of time

By John Earls - About to release his second solo album Hourglass, Dave Gahan admits that finally writing songs too has given him a fresh respect for Depeche Mode songwriter Martin Gore.

"I'd definitely been schooled all those years," says Dave. "Singing the great songs Martin writes has rubbed off.

"If he's got this big mountain of work, I've got this little pile in the corner. But it's beginning for me."

Dave admits he got nervous singing his own Depeche songs which he wrote on the band's last album, Playing The Angel.

"When I got behind a mic to sing a song I'd written, it was very different," he says. "It was a lot harder to do than sing the songs Martin had written.

"I now feel more invigorated about the possibility of future recordings Depeche may do together. Martin and I have always had a brotherly love."

Hourglass contains some of Dave's most mature vocal performances to date.

"After all these years, it's weird that - instead of trying to imitate certain performers that influnced me in the past - I'm finally starting to find my own voice," he admits.

"Being comfortable with that, to go where I want with my voice, I'm still learning that. You always have to challenge what it is you can do."

Hourglass is more electronic than Dave's earlier solo LP, Paper Monsters.

"Some songs that have ended up very sparse and electronic didn't start out that way," says Dave.

"That was predominantly the way we ended up writing them. At the same time, I didn't want to make them too defined, too precisely electronic, in case they lost the spontaneity and energy of how they were first written."

Having finished a Depeche tour last year, Dave is reluctant to tour solo.

"I come back from tour like a bull in a china shop," he admits. "It takes time to reconnect with family and friends, it takes time to recognise that things have changed while I've been away.

"With every tour, the ante gets upped as to what I can do as a performer. To produce on stage every night, that takes its toll as I get older."

Dave recently said that he feels like a 25-year-old in a 45-year-old's body.

"Time is definitely a subject that which seems to be a thread throughout this album," he ponders.

"I often get told by my wife that I'm going through some kind of mid-life crisis. I can't tell if I am or not. But if I am, well, it's about time, really." Are you into golf, DIY or any 45-year-old's hobbies? "No, I'm not!"
