VII.

When she wakes up again she looks into a pair of deep dark eyes. He’s still lying there like she remembers him before she zonked out – his arm securely wrapped around her.

„Did you sleep at all?“
„A little. You still had a lot to tell me.“
„Oh my, I did it again! I’m said to talk in my sleep.“
„Well, pretty obvious. If you refuse to work it out in real time your brain tries during the night.“
„Hey, I do not refuse anything!“
He smiles at her.
„Not even had breakfast and already quarreling!“
She rolls her eyes.
„Geez, what time is it? I’m totally lost!“
He glimpses at his mobile that rests on the night stand.
„10.30am – and it’s already Saturday.“
„Oh my god! Did I sleep two days in a row?!“
„Nearly. You just got up every now and then for the bathroom.“
„What?!“
„Don’t you remember?“
„No, what happened?!“
„Relax – I told you to trust me. I just guided you to the loo – you were all alone in there. Kinda half awake state – really frightening at times. You can’t remember anything?“
„Umh, not much. It’s all in kinda haze.“
She brushes through her long, dark hair and moves up in the bed.
„Gosh, I need a shower or a bath!“
„Slowly! Or you will fall over your own feet again. I had to catch you a few times.“
He looks at her seriously again.
„How’s your mood? I mean after all the revelations – digging it up again.“
She flinches for a second.
„I did tell you?“
He nods.
„How much?“
„Enough for some sleepless nights – maybe a lifetime.“
Dave gets up from the mattrass and adjusts his crinkled shirt. The stubble lets him look even more aged – you can see the lack of sleep around his eyes. His hair is a mess, too.
„Looks we both could need a bit fresh up.“
A smirk on his still handsome face.
„Would you mind to share a bath with me, baby?“
„Hmh – I think I shared more intimate moments with you so far – I recall. A bath won’t hurt me thinks.“

His hand with the sponge is slowly gliding over her shoulder and arm. He sits behind her, carefully avoiding too close contact. She was a little hesitant at first but relaxes more and more with the time. The warm, scented water helps as well. The lather bubbles shrink slowly away.

„This is more a pool than a tub, geez!“
„Again complaints?“
„Nah, not really! It’s just – I’m not used to such a luxury.“
„It’s not that expensive. We thought it would be nice to have some more space – especially with the kids. You have no idea how easily they can turn this place into a mess.“
Seeing the wistful expression in her face he cuddles closer to her body.
„Hey, cheer up! We are here and now. The past is in the past and we have no idea what the future will bring. So enjoy it!“

Very softly he kisses down her neck, stopping at the crook for a moment – breathing hotly against her wet skin.

„Let me make love to you. We haven’t done it properly so far.“
A slight moan escapes her mouth when his hands move up and cover her breasts.
„Dave, please! I can’t.“
„Don’t be scared. Come to the bed with me. I will make up for all the pain, I swear! Let yourself fall – I can hold you!“

Saying this he lifts her up with him and reaches for the huge bathing sheet that conveniently hangs over the towel rail. After he put on his dressing robe he quickly tosses her over his shoulder and dashes for the bedroom. Letting her fall onto the bed she has to giggle.

„Geez, David! You will get a rupture – I’m way too heavy for you!“
„See, I risk my health for you, baby!“
Kneeling over her he lets his fingers wander along the front of his robe, pulling at the waistbelt in slow motion.
